DYNACO MK III Tube Mono Amplifier Amps MK3 Pair with Volume Control, Integrated
Classic Dynaco MKIII Monoblocks in nice shape with cages. Amps work very well with no known issues and really sound great. This is a very common modification for Dynamos and other tube rectified amps or integrated amps and there are many threads on AudioKarma and the Dynaco Tube Audio Forum dedicated to it. According to many, this mod should be done to all tube amps using tube rectifiers, to reduce the chance of damaging the tube rectifier which is the most sensitive component on a tube amplifier. If fact, all major guitar tube amp manufacturers moved to SS rectification in guitar amps for this reason.
It also allows the use of more common rectifiers like 5AR4. I have attached a schematic of the mod which is the only change to specs. So a stock pair with one common upgrade to improve reliability. I have attached the schematic for the mod that was done. Any discoloration on the tube cages in the picture are due to the fact that I had just rinsed off and towel dried the cages.There was still some moisture present which cause the color to appear inconsistent in the pictures.
