Magnavox 9302 tube amp (EL84) upgraded and improved

  
Here is a Magnavox former console amplifier, Model 9302 (I think) larger transformer version, upgraded and enhanced to become a line level integrated amplifier. It uses 4 EL84 tubes in push/pull configuration to deliver approximately 15 watts per channel. I have polished the steel chassis as best I could. I have replaced the critical coupling capacitors with new good quality ones. The original power cord is replaced with a new one and routed out the rear panel and a safety fuse is added. A small power switch and red power indicator lamp are added to the right section of the front panel.

In the center of the front panel is an input selector switch connected to four pair of input RCA jacks on the rear panel. I could only find a 6 position selector so switch positions 2 through 4 are used, positions 1 and 6 are not used. On the left section of the front panel a volume control potentiometer is added. On the rear panel are the four pair of RCA inputs. I had to use a couple of different colors, but they are aligned in the conventual manner with left channel on the top row and right channel on the lower row.

Also on the rear panel are new multi-way speaker binding posts. The four EL84 tubes are vintage, two pairs.

I can't tell what brands but it is obvious that each pair is a set of the same brand. I have played them for multiple hours and they perform very well. With vintage 6EU7 tubes becoming more rare and more expensive, I decided to try using 12AX7 tubes with socket converters in place of 6EU7 tubes. This configuration is working very nicely. The included 12AX7 tubes are new, of chinese manufacture.
