Vintage Altec Lansing 339B Mono Integrated Amplifier EL84 Tubes Works

  
For sale is a completely original, very clean Altec 339B. I powered up it up on a variac after inspecting the parts inside closely. Unit never drew more than an appropriate amount of wattage as I slowly turned up the voltage. I took it to about 105 volts and plugged in a source. Sounded quite good with no distortion or noticeable hum.

I did not test any of the phono EQs or input. These old Altec amplifiers have Peerless transformers which were some of the best in their day.

This unit is wired beautifully. With all of that being said, this amplifier needs to have at least some of the very old capacitors inside replaced and maybe other parts as well as tubes. This is not something where you should take chances running it original even if it does work. I simply would not plug it in to the near 125 volts coming from most walls these days. I live in Central California and travel to LA as well as the bay area often! You do not need to live near me. I sell mostly vintage electronics. As such, these items are old and typically out of spec from when they were new.

I do my best to test these items and make sure they work before theyre sent out, but I do not guarantee or represent that they will meet the original specifications. I may not even be able to test them, in which case assume that they dont work. However, there are times where I may miss something. If that happens, I hope that you would agree that the most efficient way to take care of an issue is if you simply message me before opening a case or doing anything else. I need an outlet for these items online, so I have no reason to send you something that doesnt work unless Ive noted that it doesnt. I know what it takes to get an item to you safely. You will NOT have to ask for it. I will do my best to get items out within a few days, however there are instances where that is not possible. The policies here are difficult in this regard because these vintage items in particular need to be moved and packed carefully.
