McIntosh MA230 Integrated Tube Amplifier Original Excellent Needing Service

  
A very fine McIntosh Integrated Amplifier from approximately 1965. Just came in from an estate. The volume potentiometer is not behaving (cutting out and producing white noise when turned) so I played it at a fixed volume and did my volume adjustments on the input device. My regular system is a McIntosh MC402 with Audio Research SP-9 and I was amazed that this 55 year old MA230 sounded nearly as good, and it is quite powerful for 30 WPC.

All other functions seem fine and it sounds great but please recognize the need for service which may involve more than just service of the volume adjustment. Completely unrestored with original McIntosh tubes. This MA230 looks so good you would think it had been restored. Flawless chassis, flawless glass and brushed aluminum front, only very minor marks on the chrome platform. All I did was carefully clean the surfaces.
