This listing is for a Vintage Stereo Tube Amplifier, with Push Pull EL84 / 6BQ5s and 6EU7s, badged "BA Custom Stereo". The "Custom Stereo" line of amps were manufactured by major US companies and re-badged for Burstein Applebee, a Kansas City electronics retailer. We don't know for sure who made this one, but one look at the output transformers tells you that it's high quality! The full tube lineup is 4 x EL84/6BQ5, 4 x 6EU7 and 1 x EZ81/6CA4. Prior to listing it was brought up on a Variac.

At first it performed poorly, but some DeOxit on the pots fixed that and we were able to play music through the Tuner input and verify that the volume, balance and tone controls all operated correctly. We did not test the other inputs it has one for a Crystal Phono cart!

Nor did we run it for an extended time. It is in fair cosmetic condition, with scuffs, scratches marks etc. Including "mom" scratched on the faceplate (underneath the remnants of a property sticker, top right). One other odd feature of this amp is that while it has the High Fidelity Manufacturers and EIA logos, as you'd expect, where you would expect to find a UL approval there is, instead, an approval from the City of Los Angelese Department of Building and Safety!
