Harman Kardon A500 Vintage Integrated Tube Stereo Amplifier. I acquired this amplifier from a friend of mine about 30 years ago. It was my primary stereo for 20 years until we moved 10 years ago at which time it was boxed up and set on a shelf until last week when I pulled it out to test for listing. When I turned it on I remembered why I loved this amp so much. The problem is, I will not have room in the place we are now moving to, consequently it is up for sale.

I just dusted it off, cleaned the pots and switches with contact cleaner, tested all the tubes and sat and listened to it for a while. This is a great sounding powerful stereo amplifier with lots of unique features including the blending feature allowing you to blend the two separate stereo channels to a specific blending of your choice while monitoring the amount of blend with the indicator lamps. It also has a volume potentiometer controlled low level signal out for a center channel if desired. A very cool not so common feature for a stereo amplifier of this era. This is a very well built piece of equipment with massive transformers and lots of shielding.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS from Owners Manual: Two 7355 tubes per channel, self-biased, tetrode connected in Class AB1 operation. On preamplier and voltage amplifier laments. 20 watts per channel at less than 0.5% distortion. 5watts at less than 0.2% distortion. Db 1235.000 cycles per second at normal listening level. 85 db below rated output.

10 db at 50 and 10,000 cycles per second. Individual tone controls for each channel. Low Level: Phono (RIAA) 4 mv, Tape (NARTB) 2.5 mv. Tube balance control for each channel. 2 Magnetic Phono (luIAA), 2 Tape Head (NARTB), 2 Crystal Phono, 2 Tuner, 2 Tape Amplier, 2 Auxiliary, 2 Tape Monitor.

2 Tape Outputs, A Third Channel Output controlled by front panel Ambiance Control, Stereo Headphone Output on front panel and 1 AC. Speaker Phasing Switch, Tape Monitor Switch, Hi-cut Switch, Low-cut Switch, Contour Switch, Stereo Reverse Switch, Stereo Headphone jack, Ambiance Control, Illuminated Push Button Power Switch, Stereo/Mono/Blend Indicator Lamps, Individual Bass and Treble Tone Controls for each channel, Balance Control, Blend Control, Loudness Control and Function Selector Switch. Ambiance gain control for center channel system or gain to feed any reverberation unit. Blend control with lamps to indicate exact degree of blend. Stereo Headphone Jack on front panel which automatically disengages speakers when headphones are plugged in.
