Vintage Bogan DB212 Stereo Tube Integrated Amplifier Strong And Mint

  

This is a rarely seen and very cool little integrated tube amp that debuted in 1961. The Bogan DB212 used two pairs of 6V6 tubes to produce about 12 wpc and while not a powerhouse, it seems quite able to keep up with my Dynaco SCA35 by virtue of how gracefully this amp handles overload.

While it wont shake walls, with reasonably efficient speakers youd be surprised at how far 12 tube watts will go! More importantly, this offers a tremendously smooth and open presentation with a vintage quality that simply is not found in modern gear.

The presentation offers an amazing sense of space with great depth. Its the kind of sound that has had listeners comment on things like the drums coming from behind the speakers with vocalists in front of them.

The simplicity of the design lends itself to a very pure and inviting musical experience overall. In terms of condition, this looks about as close to mint as any vintage piece Ive ever encountered. Take a look at the pictures and then know that what looks like a tiny imperfection above the power indicator turned out to be a spec of dirt that Ive since removed, it looks that good! Likewise, the chassis shows no signs of rust or pitting.

More importantly though, this is in perfect operational condition in all respects. Ive gone through it and loaded this amp with all strong vintage USA tubes except for one of the 12AX7s which is a Telefunken and a brand new JJ Tesla 6CA4 rectifier. What Im basically saying is that is is ready to go with nothing needed to get it to full performance capability. The bottom line is that if condition matters to you and youre looking for a really nice sounding lower power vintage tube amp, youd be hard pressed to do better than this little Bogan!
