Presenting a pretty rare and interesting 1959 ARKAY FL 30 Integrated Mono Tube Amplifier. Power Output : 30 watts Tubes : EL34 / 12AU7 / 12AT7 / 6AV6 / 5U4 The mfg year is written on the chassis. We installed a NOS vintage matched pair of EL34 power tubes. Westinghouse 5U4 12AU7 and 12AT7 are branded ARKAY made in Great Britian.

6AV6 is branded ARKAY / RCA. What is interesting and unusual is its Balance & Level controls. The Balance control gives you a 5 position contour equalizer with different frequency boost curves... From overly bright to more mid to hi cut / more low end. The level control seem to smooth it out and vary it slightly. But changes the volume also all the way to down. Both controls do interact with each other. Real fun to play with changing the sound. Its like an advanced tone control. Never seen anything like this on any amp before. Wish I had a owners manual to see exactly what Arkay engineers had in mind. The Loudness control is the Volume control. Three position Phono output on selector switch with diffrtent EQ curves to match different Lp curves of the day.

We variaced it up and it passes a clean strong signal. No hum or noisy controls. There is one audio Output. Multi tap speaker impedence terminals. 4 / 8 / 16 ohms.

Cosmetics are pretty nice as you can see. One of a kind chassis design also. Definately plenty of power for a integrated mono amp. Because of its age it should be gone over by a quualified tech to be sure its up to factory specs.
