Challenger Amplifier Company HiFi Mono Integrated Tube Amplifier HF8-A repaired, cleaned and restored. It features a glossy chocolate brown chassis with good graphics and an inscribed brass front panel amazingly preserved for it's 60 plus years. The control knobs original to this amp is included. The amplifier appears correct to the published schematic and was not otherwise modified. Replaced all electrolytic capacitors with new high temp.

Parts, the can capacitor was replaced with new CE manufacturing twist-loc capacitor, signal and coupling wax capacitors replaced with high voltage metallized polypropylene and mylar capacitors, critical out of tolerance resistors replaced, new polarized power cord and internal fuse holder and fuse added (see picture). Also replaced weak power output tube with a good matching unit.

The tube line up includes: a 6SC7 Phono Pre-amp, 6SL7GT Amp/ phase splitter, twin 6V6GT Power Output, and 6X5GT rectifier. This amplifiers features a push-pull output driving about 10 watts. While this is not window rattling power, coupled to a decent speaker, the amplifier can provide more than adequate volume for many hours of your music enjoyment. Please review all pictures to appreciate the condition of this unit.

The second can capacitor (near power transformer) was replaced by other capacitors beneath chassis. It was electrically disconnected but physically left in place to preserve original appearance of the amplifier. Your satisfaction is important to me, so please ask if you have questions or concerns.
