Cleanest Sherwood S-5000ii Tube Integrated Amplifier 7591 RCA Amp. Here is possibly the best example of a sherwood s-5000ii integrated amp thats been available. The copper chassis is beautiful.

Not polished but very clean with only light blemishes. The faceplate is almost perfect. The shiny gold frame has some nicks. See pics it is easily a B++ or an A. More importantly this thing sounds perfect and is completely original other than the tubes. The sound is crisp and equal on both sides. The knobs seem to all work, although I didnt try the phono, and some of the little switches seem to work but I never use them.

From what I can see it is unmolested other than two things.. I made a custom metal cover and riveted aluminum strips along the side for attachment points. Could use some shorter machine screws.. Super tall rubber feet to keep cool air flow.

The 7591 tubes are old 60s RCA and I have a 5th for reserve. They tested 103-105 on my tester. The 6 12ax7s are new EH and sovtek LPS. This is a perfect amp to tube roll with.

The tubes do change the output sound. Especially noticeable on the la scalas. My favorite were some old cmi/raytheons. However even JJs sounded great. Anyway this thing is too nice for me to keep. It needs to be babied and Im not that guy. I try to be but I dont like to see nice stuff get scratched or dusty cause I was sloppy!! Babied doesnt mean not used!
