For sale is an excellent condition Rogue Audio integrated amplifier hand-built in Brodheadsville, PA. Audiophile that used to work in the audio business. I've had a LOT of equipment come and go from my system through the years, but this amp has remained longer than any other single piece of electronics. This is an ALL TUBE design that outputs a strong 55 watts-per-channel (these aren't thin, transistor watts, either---look at the transformers or feel the 55-pound heft and you'll understand). This is the original Cronus integrated amp that uses EL34 tubes (6CA7 you see here are also compatible); it is NOT the Cronus Magnum that uses KT120s and has other modifications to the original design. Ube rolling is okay by Rogue's chief designer Mark O'Brien. You can definitely do some tube rolling with the Cronus and we don't discourage it. I believe that we use the best tubes currently manufactured, but the ability to tailor the sound by changing tubes is certainly part of the fun of owning tube equipment. The Cronus is in very good condition--it was originally a gift for my wife, and we're only parting with it now to get into some streaming functionality and digital inputs that can be found on newer amps.

But we used this amp regularly, right up until a couple weeks ago. It looks awesome and sounds terrific...

Warm, yes, but not over-the-top, and with a very solid bottom end. And man, does it sound strong! I would have guessed it to be a 200 wpc design based on the way it sounds must be those transformers!

Anyway, the amp comes with everything it originally included, and also some options like the cage and remote... I haven't used the remote in a while, but it worked the last time we tried it several years back (it's a standard IR signal). It even has the original instruction manual and box.

6CA7 push-pull parallel power tubes (4) Replaced on 6/6/20 with Electro-Harmonix 6CA7 Vacuum Tubes (EL-34s are standard). Replaced on 1/14/15 with Sovtek 12AX7LPS Vacuum Tubes. 12AU7 preamp tubes (3) Replaced on 1/14/15 with Electro-Harmonix 12AU7 EH Vacuum Tubes.

3/8 anodized aluminum faceplate and knobs. 3 RCA line level inputs. 1 phono input (35dB gain before preamp section) with a ground post for the phono stage. 2 outputs (1 variable and 1 fixed).

It's simply damn good the Rogue Audio Cronus offers a feature-filled 55 watts of solidly engineered and solidly built, value-packed juju. But don't let all that practicality and value fool you - the Rogue Audio Cronus has balls-to-the-wall (of sound) coupled with the delicacy and detail to transform your tunes from stored media to musical juju on tap. A special feature of Cronus is its hyper-realistic bass. To be honest, I have never heard such bass in tube devices.

It sounds so powerful, accurate and focused, that the contours of percussion instruments are carefully drawn in space. Another valuable quality is amazing intelligibility in high register even modern rock phonograms that require monstrous energy sound dynamically and expressive. I can't overemphasize the Cronus' level of musical involvement. If you want an amp that lays bare every micropscopic detail in your recordings, the Cronus may not be for you, but if you are looking for an amp that draws you into the musical performance, you can't go wrong with this amp.

When you factor in the price and all of its standard features, the Cronus is a bona fide bargain. I urge you to listen to it before Rogue Audio comes to their senses and raises the price.
