Scott LK-48 Tube Integrated Amplifier (Cherry Mahogany Cabinet available)

  
Us for sale is a very nice Scott LK48 (20-24wpc). The amplifier is in excellent working condition with most face plate lettering in tact except for over the volume control and sounds beautiful with efficient speakers. This amplifier was intended for a bedroom system but was replaced with another. Take a look at the pictures and see what you think. Scott LK-48 Tube Integrated Amplifier. Amp uses 7189 (EL84) output tubes. The unit is in good working condition. Ive checked it out thoroughly and replaced some weak tubes. I also replaced most of the film capacitors. Although this unit is recent enough (mid-1960s) to use film caps, I checked these and found a few bad ones so I replaced them all for a more uniform and reliable performance. The electrolytics were checked and did not need replacement (one of them was replaced before I bought the amp) and Ive used the amp for many hours and detected no hum or heating up of the capacitors. Eventually, however, they will need to be replaced.

The amp sounds good on all inputs. These Scott amps are particularly good on bass extension because of the large output transformers, bigger even than on Fisher competitors.

The cosmetics are pretty good; the photos are a pretty accurate representation of this.
