The TRIO W-46 is a vintage integrated stereo amplifier produced by Trio-Kenwood. Company is often referred to simply as Trio in Japan and Kenwood in international markets. Released in the late 1960s to early 1970s era, the W-46 was part of Trio's early transistor-based hi-fi equipment lineup. Though not as famous as some of the later Kenwood models, the W-46 is still appreciated today by audio enthusiasts for its warm, classic sound and solid build quality.

Despite modest specs by modern standards, many vintage audio enthusiasts describe the W-46 as having a pleasant "warm" tonality, a hallmark of many early transistor designs from Trio/Kenwood. These amplifiers were never produced in massive quantities compared to later mainstream Kenwood lines.

As such, well-preserved units can be appealing to collectors, especially with original knobs and faceplate intact. Pairing with Efficient Speakers: With its modest 15-20 WPC output, you'll get the best results using speakers with higher sensitivitye.

This ensures ample volume without driving the amp too hard. The onboard phono preamp is suitable for classic moving magnet cartridges, making the W-46 a solid pick for vintage turntable setups. The brushed aluminum front and possible wood side panels (if equipped) lend a retro look that many vintage audio fans enjoy displaying.
